Finding the right watch is never easy. Especially now with such a saturated market. You can always go with a classic watch, something simple. Or, if you’re lucky, you'll be able to find a timepiece that more so matches your personal style. Enter AVI-8 watches.
I had never heard of AVI-8 until I stumbled upon it while poking around Bespoke Post. They're a brand that makes affordable and quality pilot watches of all sorts.
Sure there are more simple watches in the market now, but AVI-8 watches are a bit bolder and feature very unique packaging that pushes them past the competition. Various models also contain add-ons and contain anything from the date, to moon phases, to chronographs.
INITIAL THOUGHTS ON AVI-8 WATCHES
I didn't know what exactly to expect when my AVI-8 watch arrived. The reviews online for AVI-8 watches is decidedly mixed.
Despite the negative reviews, though, I decided to purchase anyway. Here are some of my initial thoughts about my AVI-8 watch.
Great Design: As I'll talk about later, the design is not only modern but literally goes with anything. The the leather is very hefty and seems like it will only get better with time.
Hefty, but not too hefty: As I said before, the watch has a weight to it, but a sophisticated weight. Matched with the leather, this particular watch is hard to beat.
Top quality and goes with everything: I have yet to find an outfit or piece of clothing that this watch doesn't go with. Investing in an AVI-8 watch means investing in your look - and the future
WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF AN AVI-8 WATCH?
AVI-8 watches offer an affordable mid-range option for those looking for an elegant yet rugged timepiece. Entry-level watches in this category are generally priced under or around $100.
Upper-end AVI-8 watches range from $300 to $500, depending on the desired number of features.
WHICH AVI-8 WATCH IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
If you love the idea and look of an aviation watch, but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, then AVI-8 watches are a perfect alternative. Online reviews can be hard to judge, so try not to let them sway you one way or another. As always, it's better to view and try on in person before buying online.
Once you buy, though, you'll be stoked. It looks great, has a very cool story/approach to watch making, and will continually bring you compliments. Plus, there is just something cool about wearing a pilot watch from the early-to-mid 20th century.
