SmileBrilliant Teeth Whitening Review - AndyLikesThings

I had always seen various ads for teeth whitening trays and services, but never really paid them too much mind. Teeth are teeth and I love coffee so yeah, they’re going to get stained and yellow and it is what it is. But when Smile Brilliant approached me to try out their product and write about it, I jumped at the chance. What’s the worst that could happen? Take a look at the rest of my smile brilliant review and thoughts on their at home teeth whitening service.

When I first started the experience, I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t sure if I should expect nothing to happen or, worst case, my smile would blind people because my teeth were so white. I had never tried an at home teeth whitening services before, so I was a total rookie when it came to this entire experience.

Now - I haven’t been to the dentist in close to 10 years. I wear this as a badge of honor but, in reality, I should go very soon. I’m just not a huge fan of mouth pain. Not that anyone is, of course, but me especially. I’ve had my fair share of dental work done and it’s never something I look forward to. However, the smile brilliant teeth whitening kit was not only painless for me, but super simple to use and helped further emphasize the importance of dental health.

Take a look at the pictures below for how my teeth looked before I started using the product. I’m not super proud of these pictures but the before-and-after needed to be done. Plus, it’s always fun to see your progress - especially when it comes to teeth whitening.

Before Using Smile Brilliant

Now My biggest vice when it comes to something that stains my teeth is coffee. I’m a huge coffee drinker. Cold, hot, black, various other things - I’ll drink it however it’s given to me. Not so much red wine, so you won’t find any red wine-stained teeth in this teeth whitening review. It’s mostly been coffee, so if you’re a coffee drinker you’ll be able to see what smile brilliant can do for your teeth!

THE SMILE BRILLIANT packaging comes with everything you’ll need to get your teeth as white as possible. The box includes:

  • 3 Catalyst Pastes

  • 3 Base Pastes

  • 2 Impression Trays

  • 3 Syringes of Desensitizing Gel

  • 3 Syringes of Whitening Gel

  • An in-depth instruction guide for on how to use EVERYTHING

  • Return Card and postage-paid envelope for easy returns

The Process in Details

First off, you have to create the molds for both the upper and lower rows of your teeth. This was the most nerve-wracking process for me just because I wasn’t super sure what I was doing. The directions are very detailed and in-depth, however I got very nervous that I was doing it correctly. Take a look in the video below.

The process itself, in hindsight, is totally painless and very simple. There was a lot of drool - and when I say a lot, I mean a LOT. Each impression tray is marked with a number that corresponds with the number on your return card. This just makes it easy for the team at Smile Brilliant to send you back the proper molds.

A super nice touch courtesy of the smile brilliant teeth whitening kit are the extra molds they provide. I think I used each bit of mold they provided as to make sure everything was properly covered. So I’m very grateful they provide extras. That should also instill confidence in you - and the brand - so you know they care about giving you an A+ product and as many chances as you need to get a proper mode.

Step-by-Step Impression Tray Creation

Step 1: Be sure to brush and floss before making the impressions. The last thing you want to do is make another mold because of some food you had in your teeth. This will help with everything from creating the mold to making sure the mold comes out correctly.

Step 2: Grab a handful of the impression materials and get ready to play with some putty for a couple of minutes. Wash and dry your hands before handling the impression/mold making material.

Remove one of each of the materials and bring to mix the two pastes together. This is a super fun part because it’s just like playing with silly putty! It was great. I want to just play with the remaining part of the putty just because, well, it’s fun! However the fun doesn’t last very long as the putty begins to harden.

Once it starts to harden - within one minute of the initial combining of the two - you’ll need to get it into the mouthpieces as fast as possible.

Step 3: As the mixture begins to harden, spread it as evenly across the mouthpieces as quickly as possible. This will ensure a more accurate mold and, ultimately, better teeth whitening.

Step 4: Now this is the most important part of the entire process. Make sure the mold is covering every part of your teeth. Ideally the mold is still a bit flexible. If it is, continue spreading the mold across the tops of your teeth.

Repeat this same process for both rows of your teeth and once the molds have hardened, you’re onto the next step!

Step 5: Next up you’ll send in your molds in order to get your new gear! Now, I have a funny story when it comes to my teeth whitening kit. It got stolen when I dropped it off into one of those giant blue mailboxes! Apparently those were broken into a day or two after I dropped my mold off. At any rate, Smile Brilliant were cool enough to send me a whole NEW teeth whitening kit. Sure, I had to redo the molds and everything, but it all worked out!

My trays took about 3 or 4 days to get here, which was SUPER fast. It was a pleasant surprise when I received them and I was super excited to try them out.

Teeth Whitening Process and After Using SmileBrilliant

Once you get your molds in the mail, I’m sure you’ll try them out that night. I suggest doing it at night because they are perfect for a slow night before bed. Follow all of the directions step-by-step and you’ll be good to go. Lets jump into those directions and my experience with them!

First, get all the materials ready to go. You’ll want the whitening syringes and desensitizing syringes handy as they are incredibly important to the entire process. Along with the materials from Smile Brilliant, you’ll want to have a few paper towels handy and maybe a couple q-tips for any excess gel. Once you’ve got everything in front of, pop off the tops to each syringe and get the whitening gel handy.

Spread the whitening gel across the inside-front of each tray and place them firmly on the corresponding row of teeth. Now, some people experience sensitivity with the whitening gel. I did a little bit but nothing that was painful by any means. If you experience sensitivity, either try out the desensitizing gel or spread out your applications over a few days.

I don’t imagine the liquids do any sort of damage to tooth enamel, nor do I think their products have any negative side effects. Just as long as you rinse your mouth properly of the whitening agent once you’re completed - and brush your teeth after wards - everything will be just fine and you’ll be greeted with a white smile every morning.

Final Thoughts

Now, I’ve never tried any other whitening products so I’m completely biased when it comes to my thoughts on Smile Brilliant. But I loved the entire experience. From the awesome customer service, to the fun process of making the molds, to the awesome final product - it’s been great all around. I’m not saying this because they provided me the entire kit free-of-charge, I honestly think the entire process was an A+.

  • Customer service was far-and-away one of the best I’ve had with any company. Everyone I worked with was so so nice and understanding given my weird circumstances

  • Creating the trays was such a simple and approachable process that I’ll happily be telling friends and family how well it went

  • Everything that comes with the kit. They really thought of including anything and everything you need - and then some.

  • The results were incredibly fast and so, so awesome that I’m very happy with how my teeth look whenever I use them

  • The formula doesn’t taste good - but what else is new when it comes to any sort of dental-related formula. There was no surprise there, but something to mention nonetheless.

  • I did experience just a little bit of sensitivity, which I think is normal for most users. Again, nothing huge, but worth mentioning.

On the whole, I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who asked if I had used a teeth-whitening formula. The entire experience has been and A+ and hopefully my friends and family will soon be customers of SmileBrilliant.
