Fall and Winter are the seasons for layering. Long sleeve T, sweatshirt, light jacket, and you're good to go. I originally wanted to use the jacket strictly for fall but, alas, it's become my go-to during the winter months as well. Here's why the Taylor Stitch Rover Jacket is my go-to..
The Rover Jacket in Field Tan Waxed Canvas is a stand-out in the growing line of exceptionally stylish and durable products released by the made-in-America creators at California-based Taylor Stitch. If you’re not familiar with the brand, get familiar. This is one of those brands that flies just under the radar and then, boom, they take off. They stock both a regular rotation of every day Essentials — things like chambray shirts, Oxfords and their famous Standard Issue Chinos.
The jacket is crafted from 7 oz. Martexin waxed canvas designed to repel water, and comes trimmed in Brisbane Moss corduroy-lined cuffs and collar for that extra vintage style. The chest and front hand-warmer pockets remind me of a classic denim jacket look, but on top of an entirely new silhouette. The sturdy buttons and copper rivets add to an already timeless look plus they work well. Taylor Stitch knocked it out of the park with the overall feel and design of the The Rover Jacket.
As I alluded to, The Rover Jacket is one of the better looking menswear jackets on the market. With that, of course, the styling potential with this jacket is infinite. Sure, it's a lightweight jacket. I have been wearing it more during the winter as a layered option, but it's water-repellent functionality should make it a terrific spring jacket. It's not only of those jackets that is perfect year round, but its quality and build means you'll have it for years to come.
Pricing and Conclusion
Now there may be some sticker shock associated with The Rover Jacket, and maybe the brand itself. However, as a Taylor Stitch brand advocate - and advocate for this jacket - I can comfortably say this jacket is well worth the money. Grab one and get excited to wear it. You won't regret it.
